Farmington School Board President Among ADL Honorees

Howard Wallach is honored during the organization's centennial celebration for his service as a past chair.

Howard Wallach, Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education president, was honored as a past chair of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) during the organization's Centennial Gala, held Oct. 3 at the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights.

The theme for the Centennial celebration was "Imagine a World Without Hate".

“We congratulate you, Howard, on this well-deserved recognition and for embracing and living by example, the philosophy of the ADL, where being different is not a liability and diversity is a cherished strength," Superintendent Sue Zurvalec said during Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.

Wallach is a partner with Foley & Mansfield in Detroit and is also the past chair of the Michigan Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League.

He is serving his third term as president of the Farmington school board, which he joined as an appointee in 2004.
