Farmington School Officials Seek Interim Principal at Harrison

After the resignation of Aaron Johnson in late June, officials expect to hire a permanent replacement during the school year.

officials say they will appoint an interim principal at , following the , who took a position with Grosse Pointe Public School District.

In a press release, officials cited the time of year and "reluctance of many school leaders to consider a move so close to the start of the school year" as reasons for the decision. The interim position will be posted soon, and the selection process will involve staff, students, administration and parents.

“We will soon be sending out the posting for the position but due to the summer vacation, it is more difficult to find the right candidates for the position,” said David Ruhland, Assistant Superintendent of Support Services. “Farmington Public Schools has a history of attracting a strong candidate pool and we are optimistic that we will be able to secure a candidate for a mid-year hire.”

Until an interim principal is identified, any issues that arise will be handled by Assistant Principal Chris O'Brien, the release indicated.
