Harrison Students Meet With County Officials

The annual Youth in Government Day draws students from around Oakland County.

Farmington Hills Harrison students joined their peers from across Oakland County at today's Youth in Government Day Program.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the Oakland County Board of Commissioners welcomed students to the annual event, which is part of National County Government Month. Students met with elected officials, attended a county Planning and Building committee meeting and participated in a question and answer session with county commissioners.

Students from Milford, Lake Orion, Pontiac, Farmington Hills, Southfield-Lathrup, Troy, and White Lake also had the opportunity to share their experience on the various social media sites, as cellphones were allowed for this program, which is a first.
