Wood Creek Students Out for a Third Day, Power's Back at Lanigan

A repair crew was at the school late Wednesday night, and DTE's published restoration time is Friday, 11:30 p.m.

Wood Creek Elementary, the last of four Farmington Public Schools that lost power in a storm and high winds Sunday and Monday, remains closed and dark Wednesday.

Power was restored to Lanigan Elementary Tuesday.

According to Farmington Public Schools spokesperson Diane Bauman, a DTE Energy crew was out at Wood Creek late last night, and a tree service had been called to help clean up the storm damage.

The DTE Energy outage map indicates that restoration of power at Wood Creek could come as late as Friday at 11:30 p.m.; the estimate for the 108 homes in that immediate area is Thursday, 11:30 p.m.

With the exception of 167 DTE customers in the Nine Mile and Middlebelt area, most of the remaining outages are smaller pockets of fewer than 100 customers scattered throughout the community. The company estimates restoration by Friday at 11:30 p.m. for most areas.
