Spending Spring Break at Home?

We've got a list of family-friendly things to do this week.

With on spring break this week, parents – both working and stay at home – are looking for activities to keep their children happy and occupied. We’ve "patched" together a list of some of the coolest things happening in and around town to help you plan your time.  

Camps 

is offering camp for kids in kindergarten-8th grade. Openings may remain for individual days. See flyer for details, and call the Y for more information, (248) 553-4020 ext. 130.

in the Orchard 12 Plaza in Farmington Hills is offering a morning camp for children ages 2-13 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Sign up for one day or all three. Learn more on their website.

Indoor Activities

has a mid-day skate Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. – 1:20 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. Skate rental is $2.50 per pair.  

roller skating rink in Farmington Hills has open skate Monday through Friday 1 p.m.-4 p.m.. Visit their website for details and prices. An all ages Skate Night will be held on Wednesday, April 6 with $5 admission.

offers an open gym for kids up to 6 years of age Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Cost is $5 per child and parents must stay with their children.

in Farmington keeps your kids busy with Glo Golf, Lazer Tag, bowling and more. They have special hours this week and will open at noon each day.

On Tuesday, April 5, the offers one medium pop corn with each ticket purchased. See True Grit or a special PG-13 version of The King’s Speech. The Civic is offering early movies all week; check thefct.com for showtimes.

Outdoor fun 

Do your children love being outside? Check out Frogs & Fun Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at in . For just $5 per person, you can come out to the marsh and listen to frog calls. Learn the sounds different frogs make, and track them.  

On Saturday at 11 a.m., share some garden fun with the Hill and Dale Garden Club, and create a wonderful nature craft at the downtown . This event is free,

Farmington Community Library 

In addition to their usual infant and young child programming, our fabulous community library has a plethora of exciting, engaging events for school age children at both the and this week. From arts and crafts on Monday, a picnic and movie night on Wednesday to a Superhero Party on Saturday there is something for every child.
