Students Invited to Compete for Scholarships in Optimist Speech Contest

Enter by March 8 for the Farmington/Farmington Hills Breakfast Optimist Club competition.

"Why My Voice is Important" is the theme of this year's Farmington/Farmington Hills Breakfast Optimist Club speech contest for students.

The competition provides students with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship and express their views on a pre-assigned topic. It is open to students under the age of 19 who have not yet graduated from high school, or the equivalent. While there is no minimum age requirement, the contest is geared toward middle and high school students.

The speech must be at least four minutes but not over five minutes in length. Entry forms are available at farmington.k12.mi.us or by calling contest chair Bruce Fowler at 248-921-7579 or fowlerbe@sbcglobal.net. Entries must be received by March 8.
