Trunk-or-Treat in Farmington Hills Benefits Neighborhood House

Girl Scouts at Lanigan Elementary collect items Tuesday for Neighborhood House.

The trunks were open at Tuesday night as Girl Scouts from Lanigan Elementary, along with the 5th and 6th grade troops that have moved up to enjoyed a night of "Trunk-or-Treating for a Cause".

Decorated mini-vans were lined up in the Lanigan parking lot, as girls went trick-or-treating from vehicle to vehicle, while also attempting to fill a mini-van (or more) with items needed for Neighborhood House, an organization that operates a food shelf and provides other services for needy families in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

The event was held in honor of "Make a Difference Day" Oct. 22, as well as the memory of Girl Scouts founder, Juliette Gordon Low, born Oct. 31, 1860.
