Want to Serve on the Farmington School Board?

Officials are taking applications through Feb. 10 to fill Priscilla Brouillette's board post.

Farmington Public Schools officials have opened applications to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of board member Priscilla Brouillette, who will leave at the end of February.

Brouillette announced her resignation on Dec. 10; her term expires at the end of this year.

Officials plan to fill the open seat within 30 days after the vacancy, in accordance with state law and board policies. Officials will hold a public meeting that gives candidates time to respond to questions from members of the Board.

Applications are available at farmington.k12.mi.us and will be received through 4 p.m. on Feb. 10. For information about the application or process, call Debbie Higgins at 248-489-3331 or write to deb.higgins@farmington.k12.mi.us.

Interviews will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on March 5, and, if necessary, on March 6. Officials plan to conduct final interviews and appoint a new trustee on March 10.

In the event a vacancy is not filled within 30 days, the intermediate school board will appoint a trustee.
