BRIEF: Harrison and St. Clair Shores tie 4-4 at MAC-OAA Showcase

Hawks can't take advantage of numerous penalties, have to settle for tie.

ROCHESTER – The Farmington Hills Flyers had to come back in the third period to send its game against St. Clair Shores into overtime, but in the end had to settle for a 4-4 tie at the MAC-OAA (Macomb Area Conference-Oakland Athletic Association) Showcase at the Rochester Onyx Arena on Saturday night

The event pits all the MAC conference teams against OAA teams for one game. Pairings are determined by the weekly rankings on the U.S. High School Hockey Online Michigan High School Hockey Rankings website. Both teams were number four seeds in the showcase.

The - unified team struggled to take advantage of numerous St. Clair Shores miscues early in the game. St. Clair Shores had five penalties in the first period alone, and the Flyers could only get one powerplay goal in the first, from Caleb Wright (1:49), assisted by Reede Burnett and Scott Newel.

St. Clair Shores came back in the second with three goals to take the lead 3-2. The Flyers responded in the third with two goals to send the game into overtime at 4-4.

Note - Oakland County teams dominated the MAC-OAA Showcase. The OAA finished the event with a big four game advantage over Macomb schools. The final record was 9-5-2 in favor of the OAA.
