Farmington Hills Attorney Inducted Into National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum

Richard Bernstein will be honored in April of 2013.

Richard Bernstein, resident of Farmington Hills and an attorney at the Sam Bernstein Law Firm, will be inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum on April 21, 2013.

Blind since birth, Richard is an avid runner, having completed 17 marathons – including seven New York City Marathons, the Ironman Triathlon in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 2008 and the Israman Triathlon in Eilat, Israel in 2011.

Bernstein's many honors include being named "Michiganian of the Year" by The Detroit News and one of Crain’s Detroit Business "40 under 40". He is the recipient of the 2008 John W. Cummiskey Pro Bono Award from the State Bar of Michigan and was selected by The Young lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan as the 2003 – 2004 Regeana Myrick Outstanding Young Lawyer Award recipient for outstanding commitment to public service.

Bernstein graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan and became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor at the Northwestern School of law.

The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is dedicated to honoring Jewish athletes, coaches, broadcasters and others who have distinguished themselves in the world of sports. Each year those persons being inducted are honored in a ceremony held at The Suffolk Y JCC in Commack, NY, the home of the Hall of Fame.
