Farmington Takes a Win to Close Out Tourney
The Falcons leave the Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase 1-1.
CHELSEA – Following a in the first-ever Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase, the hockey team defeated Livionia Churchill to close out the tourney Friday night, 2-1.
“Our motto is refuse to lose. The other night we lost a close one. Tonight we won a close one,” Farmington head coach Mark Vellucci said. “The loss to Howell helped us. It proved we can compete in the third period.”
With the score tied at one-all Zach Messa put Farmington up for good. Messa grabbed a rebound, shot by Ryan Biondo, that Churchill goalie Alex Estes never saw. He put it in the back of the net before Estes even knew what was going on.
