Mountain Cats Fall to Flint in Farmington Hills

The Jr. Generals take a commanding lead in the second period and never give it up.

The Michigan Mountain Cats lost to the Flint Jr. Generals on home ice at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena last night by a score of 5 to 1.

The first period was scoreless, until with just 17 seconds left on the clock, Flint's Joshua Kestner flipped a shot past Mountain Cat goalie Jordan Wood to take a one nothing lead.

In the second period, the Jr. Generals bore down and controlled play scoring three more unanswered goals to take a four to nothing lead and forced a net-minder change by The Mountain Cats. Schuyler Ferguson replaced Jordan Wood in the net at the 5:24 mark of the second period. The Mountain Cats finally lit the lamp at 10:06 of the second period with a pretty power-play goal by Zach Bourcier. Jacob Bearss restored Flint's 4-goal lead just six minutes later by scoring the last goal of the night, finding open net on Cat goalie Schuyler Ferguson.
