The game pits cagey veteran Detroit pitcher Justin Verlander against A’s rookie phenom Sonny Gray.  It was Verlander and Gray who pitched seven and eight scoreless innings respectively in Game 2 of the series.

Check out what fans in California are saying.

Last year, Verlander pitched a complete game shutout against the A’s in the 2012 ALDS Game 5.  The A’s are 0-5 in ALDS Game 5s.  Verlander has three post season starts against the A’s in the past two years and has yielded a total of one run in his 23 innings pitched.

The winner goes on to play Boston for the pennant and the right to represent the American League in the World Series.
