There's a distinct Mitten influence when you look at Robert Koss' work.
The Farmington Hills man creates furniture and home furnishing items such as lamps, clocks and coasters. Many are in the shape of the Michigan mitten.
"I just wanted to make a product that people in the area could relate to," he said. "And I know people in Michigan take a lot of pride in their state, so I thought I would do that as well."
Koss said that his most popular products are his wooden coasters.
"The price point is right and its a unique product," he said.
Koss was among about 370 artists who displayed work in downtown Plymouth during the 34th Annual Art in the Park.
