Founders Festival Starts with Preglow Events Thursday

Colorful chairs and tables have been distributed through the streets of downtown Farmington, in preparation for Founders Festival, July 18-20.

The weekend event starts Thursday, with the Farmington High Music Patrons Bingo tent open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and pre-glow concerts at two venues.

The Walkers Tavern beer tent, in the Downtown Farmington Center parking lot, hosts Trilogy, billed as "the ultimate variety band". Alley Regalley, where fine wine and food are served, will feature the Meri Slaven Quintet at 5 p.m., and Elvis and the Temptations at 9 p.m. You'll find that venue behind Village Mall, east side of Farmington Road and just south of Grand River.

There's a $5 cover charge for both Walker's Tavern and Alley Regalley, which are open to adults 21 and older for the concerts. Alley Regalley also offers food prepared by Ginger's Cafe in Farmington; drink and food tickets are $5 each.
