Grace Newlin

Grace Newlin will be a junior at Farmington High School, where she enjoys being involved with theater, straight plays and musicals. She also likes to exercise and sew, and Newlin is relying on her curly hair to help her stand out on stage.

“A lot of the other girls have really straight hair, and my hair is crazy and wild. I think it makes me special,” Newlin said.

Having competed in the Miss Farmington Pageant last year, Newlin has been to many community service events. Her favorite event was the daddy-daughter dance, she said.

“The girls were just so cute dancing with their dads. They had corsages, and the dads were wearing boutonnieres. It was just a picture-taking moment,” said Newlin.

In preparation for the pageant, Newlin has been making daily trips to the library.
