Meet Miss Farmington Candidate Margaret Norris

Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch profiles candidates who will participate in the July 17 pageant.

This story was reported and written by Patch intern Julianne Pitcher.

The 2013 Miss Farmington pageant will be held on July 17 at the Farmington Civic Theater. Registration was open to all girls between the ages of 14 and 18 who live or attend school in the Farmington Public Schools district, and nine contestants applied. Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch introduces you to them in this series.

Margaret Norris

Seventeen-year-old Margaret Norris attends Farmington High School and will be a senior in the fall. When she isn’t cheerleading on the sidelines for her school, she works as a service clerk at Busch’s Fresh Food Market. She is also involved with musicals, theater, and choir.

“I think I can easily relate to other people, and I have an understanding of what the Miss Farmington Pageant is all about. I communicate well with others, and I am just a friendly, happy person overall,” said Norris.

While she knows a few of the other contestants from her school, this will be the first time she has competed in a pageant. She has enjoyed participating in many community service events with the other girls, especially at the Great Farmington Hills Campout.

“It was a campout for the community, including kids and families. One night, they slept in a tent at Heritage Park. Even though we didn’t spend the night, we helped serve hotdogs and s’mores to everyone,” Norris said.
