Meet Miss Farmington Candidate Rachel Gerth

Junior Rachel Gerth is the only contestant from North Farmington High School. While her hobbies include relaxing and spending time outside or on the computer, the most unique quality about Gerth is her hair that hangs all the way down her back.

“I’ve been growing it for a long time, but I do sometimes like to cut off a foot of my hair and donate it. I did that when I was six years old and then again about a year ago. I want to cut it either over the summer or next winter again, but it’s fairly easy to take care of because I guess I’m used to it being long,” Gerth said.

Gerth’s favorite community service events through the pageant program have been the porch parties at the Warner Mansion.

“They are little gatherings with treats and food for the community, where people can play games or just talk and relax. Usually we kind of just help out, serving the food, selling some merchandise, or just greeting people,” said Gerth.

Although she hopes to be in other pageants in the future, Gerth’s main priority is to be a role model for everyone in the community, she said.
