What's Your Race Story? Cipriano Benefit Draws 2,000+ to Farmington YMCA

The 5K Fun Run and Walk drew families and individuals touched by the tragic April 16 attack in the Cipriano family's home. Tell us, why did you run?

Nearly 2,200 participants lined up at the  on Farmington Road Friday evening, to run and walk in support of a Farmington Hills family devastated by an April 16 attack in their home.

 was killed and his wife, Rose, and 17-year-old son, Salvatore, were severely injured during the incident. Two Cipriano children, Tanner, 17, and Isabella, 8, were unharmed. The couple's oldest son,  Friday on filed in connection with . 

The 5K Cipriano Classic Fun Run and Walk benefit turnout more than doubled and jammed streets and parking lots in the 12 Mile and Farmington Road area well before the race's 7 p.m. start. The event raised more than $50,000 for the Cipriano Children's Trust Fund.

My sister & I walked in the Cipriano Classic. It was a great evening for it. We don't know them personally, but happy to support the family. It was a great event with lots of support.

Your picture misidentifies the TV weatherman talking to the crowd. It is Chris Edwards, of WXYZ Channel 7, not Chuck Gaidica from Channel 4...

I don't know what to "click" on to find the garage sales. They used to be "rightRead More there" when I opened the Patch email everyday. I am assuming they are now listed under something else and I guess I need instructions as to where to find it and what to click on to get to them. thanks

Grama, in addition to our Thursday map, you can click on the Events link at the top of the page, andRead More along the left side, you'll see "Garage Sales". Just click on that, and you'll see all the listings. They should be among the events in our newsletter, too. Hope that helps!
