Jeff Scott, Candidate for Farmington Council

Jeff Scott, Candidate for Council, is a Farmington Planning Commissioner, Zoning Board of Appeals and Corridor Improvement Authority Board Member.

Jeff and Anne Scott have raised their family in Farmington and their kids attended Farmington schools.  Jeff’s architectural business is located on Grand River in Farmington in a building he redeveloped.  He navigated his business through these tough years by watching the dollars, making hard decisions and through personal sacrifice.

My belief is that Jeff’s commitment to Farmington, his confidence in public safety as a core function of our city, his desire to maintain our outstanding public safety response times, his focus on protecting Farmington’s character and autonomy, and his long experience on the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals make him the best candidate in this election.

He is one of only two candidates who have their residence AND their business in the city.  He has longer service than any candidate on city commissions, including the incumbents.  He has modeled his ability to guide redevelopment by redeveloping his own property.   Jeff listens and will work to bring your views to City Council.  Jeff is a solid thinker, asks tough questions and will represent our citizens.   

Two of our candidates, who are certainly bright and have graciously offered their service, are virtual unknowns and prior to the election season have not served on any city commission, committees or functions. 

Of our two incumbents, both of whom I have great respect for, neither has committed to protection of our public safety function in its current form and response rate.  Greg Cowley, one of our incumbents, and his family have made a substantial investment in our city through their business.  Jeff Scott and Greg Cowley are the only two candidates who have located their businesses here in our city.  

We need Jeff Scott on our Farmington City Council.
