Riley Ice Rink

Last Thursday was a particularly exciting day for me.  Announcing the Riley Foundation commitment of $100,000 to create a winter ice rink in Downtown Farmington was one of the highlights of my time as Farmington Mayor.

This project will create a great venue for winter activity and provide a fun setting for our residents and friends, and support the businesses in Farmington.

There is much work to do.  Project planning has begun at a fast pace.  OHM, our city's engineering services provider, has committed to support the project with an in kind donation of their time.  They will help us make the most of the Riley Ice Rink.

We need more help and funding.  There are many operational practices to design and much funding to raise, to make this as close to 100% funded by private donations as we possibly can.  The Riley foundation has taken us 1/3 of the way.

I hope many supporters will be ready to help fund the project . . Every dollar will help.  Please consider making a donation to the Riley Ice Rink, $5, $20 will help.

It will be great fun to step on the ice in December!
