Boston, Mass. – An emotion-packed day marking the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing took a terrible twist Tuesday night when a masked man left two suspicious packages at the finish line.

Police shut down Boylston Street in Boston about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night after two unattended backpacks were found at the Boston Marathon finish line. The area was evacuated and anyone in the area has been asked to stay indoors and away from windows.
The backpacks were detonated by the Boston Bomb Squad just before 9 p.m., but so far there is no evidence the backpacks contained explosives.

A man was taken into custody after running down the street barefoot with a large backpack yelling “Boston Strong” according to reports. It's also being reported the man was wearing a black veil. Two other backpacks were found at the finish line after the man was removed. There are reports the man is being held by police at the Boston Public Library.

We need bomb-sniffing police dogs or military dogs. We also need to make the FBI accountable for their failure to follow up on Russian warnings that Tamerlan Tsarnaeyev was being radicalized. The real jihadist in the family was the Tsarnaeyev's brothers' mother. The Russians knew that but didn't send the video proving it to the FBI. Even so, they told the FBI enough that they should have been on their trail, and the FBI blew it. And why weren't they on top of the former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who shot to death three non-Jews in an anti-semitic attempt to kill Jews in Overland Park? Why do we allow so much surveillance of citizens when the results are so disappointing? It's not like the FBI is getting the job done. They miss a lot of really big, obvious targets.

Thank goodness it was a white male.
