Farmington Area Jaycees Shop with Kids in Need

Elves take 10 kids shopping for their families in Kmart on Saturday.

Some were a little shy at first, but 10 children who shopped with the Farmington Area Jaycees were all smiles by the time they left in Farmington Hills Saturday.

Angela Wolf, who will be the organization's president next year, said the Jaycees worked with the to find participating families. Each child got $80 to shop with an "elf" who would help them pick out gifts for family members that were then taken to the back of the store for wrapping.

Children also enjoyed a holiday craft, pizza and a visit from Santa after all of their shopping was done, Wolf said.
