Friends of the Library Celebrate

There's still time to score an invitation to the annual gala.

An evening of a cappella music awaits the Friends of the Farmington Community Library at their 25th Annual Gala, held Friday, June 3 at the Main Library on 12 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

Members are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, beginning at 7 p.m. with a short business meeting. Light refreshments will be served, and this year's featured entertainment is provided by the award-winning Great Lakes Chorus of Sweet Adenines International, who will serenade the  guests with their distinctly American style of four-part melodies.

With more than 1,000 members, Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that promotes literacy by strengthening and enlarging the scope of Library services and resources available to the community. During the past year, through a combination of fundraisers and dues, the organization donated more than $77,000 to the Library for a variety of resources, programs and services. Friends’ donations made it possible to buy books, DVDs, on line resources and library publications that would have been otherwise eliminated, due to limited resources.
