Letter Carriers Collecting Food Donations from Mailboxes Saturday

The nation's largest single-day food drive is back again this year in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Farmington and Farmington Hills will again be participating in the nationwide U.S. Postal Service letter carrier food drive this Saturday.

Last year, the drive netted more than 11,500 pounds of food items, which went to Gleaners, Forgotten Harvest, Food Gatherers and 's food pantry.

Residents are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal next to their mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday.
