SERVPRO Donates Services for Dimitris Restaurant Clean-Up

The value of the contribution made by the Farmington area firm is estimated to be in excess of $3,200.

A business that serves the Farmington area recently made a unique contribution to the (DDA). 

volunteered its services to clean up the former Dimitris restaurant space at 33200 Grand River. to acquire parking and facilitate redevelopment on the property. 

Workers spent hours disposing of unusable furnishings and kitchen tools, and cleaning the kitchen, serving and stock areas of waste and grease. Ionizing air filters ran for several days to reduce building odors, and kitchen equipment was moved to an off-site location for cleaning and sanitizing.

All told, the value of the clean-up exceeded $3,200. 

“We are grateful to Laurie, Lynne and the SERVPRO team for their generous contribution of in-kind services to our downtown,” said Annette Knowles, DDA executive director. “The work that was accomplished was unpleasant and laborious, so we’re especially happy with the results. The property is in much better condition than it was when we took possession of the keys.”

Lynn Kososki of SERVPRO said the company, which specializes in cleaning and restoration of residential and commercial properties after fire, smoke or water damage, appreciated the opportunity to give back. 

“If everyone pitched in to clean up their community or to share the talents they have, the world would be a better place. We were a perfect fit for this project, as it is what we do every day,” she said.
