Volunteers Deliver Holiday Cheer in Farmington Area

About 100 drivers deliver packages Saturday for the Farmington Area Goodfellows.

If you noticed a bit of slow traffic near Grand River and Sinacola Court Saturday morning in Farmington Hills, the delay was all for a good cause.

Scores of vehicles lined up to deliver packages to area families in need, fulfilling the Farmington Area Goodfellows annual promise of "no child or senior without a Christmas." While the number of donations and receipients were down a bit this year, Goodfellows president Dave Kenerson said about 150 families and 50 seniors received food, toys, gift certificates and other items.

Cooper McLean, a junior at , was among a group of teen volunteers who helped deliver packages and staffed the warehouse. He said the Farmington Falcons hockey team helps out every year. Kenerson said the Goodfellows were blessed with many volunteers this year.
