Baby Care Class and More This Week in Farmington and Farmington Hills

Botsford Hospital classes teach newborn care and help parents understand the birthing process.

Voters will go to the polls this week in Farmington and Farmington Hills, but the Patch calendar shows other activities for parents, music lovers and crafts lovers. 

Here's more information about a few of the events on the Patch calendar:

1. Classes for parents-to-be

Botsford Hospital offers two classes this week for anyone expecting a baby, or who will soon be caring for an infant: Baby Care Basics, on Monday, 6 p.m., and the Childbirth Education Comprehensive Class Series, held Wednesdays, 7 p.m., Nov. 6-27. Registration is required; call 248-888-2500.

2. Divas on the Bima

Adat Shalom Synagogue hosts four female cantors from East Coast congregations for this Monday, 7:30 p.m. concert. Tickets will be available at the door. Call 248-851-5100 for more information. 

3. Embroiderers' Guild of America Auction/Garage Sale

Stitching-related items will be sold during this event, held Wednesday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Faith Covenant Church in Farmington Hills. 

4. The Farmington Musicale "Salute to American Music"

This free concert, held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills, will cover a broad range of music and a variety of instruments to show the diversity of our country’s music. 

5. Support Group for Caregivers of Dementia Patients

Join caregivers of dementia patients to share experiences, ask questions and offer encouragement on Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills. No registration is required; all are welcome.
