Blues Christmas Service and More This Week

A Farmington Hills church hosts a service for those who struggle with sadness during the Christmas season.

Those who have trouble getting into the Christmas spirit are invited to attend a community service hosted this week by a Farmington Hills church. 

Here's information about the Blue Christmas service and more events happening this week: 

1. Farmington city council meeting

Officials meet at 6 p.m. Monday for a special study session before their 7 p.m. regular meeting at city hall on Liberty Street. Agendas for both meetings are posted on the city's website

2. Governor Warner Mansion open

If you missed the open house during the Dec. 7 tree lighting, the museum is open Wednesday, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Enjoy live piano music and learn more about Victorian Christmas traditions. The mansion is located at 33805 Grand River in Farmington. Learn more on Facebook

3. Blue Christmas Service

St. John Lutheran Church, 23225 Gill Road in Farmington Hills hosts this service on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., for anyone who experience mixed feelings or sadness this Christmas season. Everyone in the community is invited. For information, call 248-474-0584.

4. Farmington Hills Planning Commission meeting canceled

The commission's regularly scheduled public hearing on Thursday has been canceled.
