Celebrate a Birthday and More This Week in Farmington and Farmington Hills

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Farmington-Farmington Hills to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch events calendar.  


1. See a nature movie today

  • The Nature Discovery Center in Heritage Park in Farmington Hills offers daily activities now through Aug. 23 that include showing of a nature-themed movie on Mondays at 2 p.m. No registration is required, but participation is limited to the first 25 people. 

2. Celebrate Farmington Hills' birthday

  • Fhortyworks in Founders Sports Park Wednesday will feature bouncers, games, food, and live music, plus a fireworks display starting around 10 p.m. It's all free, and the fun starts at 7 p.m.

4. Music, music, music  

  • Nardin Park United Methodist's Wednesdays @ 8 Patriotic concert celebrates the Fourth of July with a musical tribute. There is no concert in Heritage Park this week due to the holiday, but Rhythmz in Riley Park in Farmington Friday concert features home-grown favorites the Delta Twins. 

5. Look ahead: Road work

  • Work on west I-696, from the I-96/I-275/M-5 interchange to Telegraph Road, will begin July 8 with overnight lane closures starting at 9 p.m. and ending by 5 a.m. the following mornings.
