Local government meetings

Farmington city council holds a special study session at city hall Monday, 7 p.m. Find the agenda on the city's website. The Farmington board of education meetings Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.; the agenda is posted on the district's website.

Free Cello Concert

New York-based cellist Stephanie Winters explores the magic of connection through her live performance of a Bach cello suite Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington. Donations will be collected for Farmington AAUW (American Association of University Women) scholarships.

Learn about foreign adoption

Adoption Associates in Farmington Hills hosts an informational meeting Tuesday, 7 p.m. AAI International programs include China, Ethiopia and Ghana. RSVP by calling 248-474-0990.

Motor City Ghost Hunters at Old Town Hall

Meet this group on Wednesday, 7 p.m., and learn about what they found in one of the community's historic icons. Recommended for ages 12 and older; admission is $5 per family. 

Farmington Hills Fire Department Open House

Dress up as a firefighter, meet Sparky the Fire Dog and more on Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Farmington Hills Fire Department Station No. 5, at 11 Mile and Orchard Lake Roads. Other local organizations will have booths.
