4. For your entertainment

Nardin Park United Methodist Church's Wednesdays @ 8 concert series will take you back to the Big Band era, with The Stardust Big Band 15-piece band. And on Friday, Rhythmz in Riley Park welcomes Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnnies to downtown Farmington. Both concerts are free.

5. I-696 Closures

Michigan Dept. of Transportation (MDOT) crews will start working today on the west side of the freeway, from the I-96/I-275/M-5 interchange to Telegraph Road. Work on westbound I-696. Expect overnight lane closures, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and a complete closure on the weekend of July 12 or July 19 is likely.

Correction: The sentencing date for Tucker Cipriano has been corrected and details about the Farmington Hills city council meeting have been added.
