Celebrate Harvest Moon This Weekend in Farmington

The 3-day event begins Thursday, with a Beer and Wine Tasting.

Downtown Farmington's three-day homage to autumn, Harvest Moon, brings a beer and wine tasting, dancing and more to the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion starting tonight. 

Here's what you need to know about this popular event:

Beer and Wine Tasting

When: Thursday, 6 p.m.-11 p.m.
Who: Adults, 21 and older
What: Special guests Rex Halfpenny of the Michigan Beer Guide and Wine Guru Lee Hershey are part of this event, which features a selection of over 50 hand-picked crafted beers and more than 30 wines and meads, as well as food pairings prepared by Oakland Community College's culinary arts program students. Robin Horlock performs. 

Dance

When: Friday, 6 p.m.-Midnight
Who: Adults, 21 and older
What: The Phoenix Theory performs classic rock and dance favorites from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today, and local restaurants will be on hand to offer visitors a taste of Farmington. 

Harvest Market

When: Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Who: Everyone
What: This is the largest Market of the season, with more 70 vendors. Take the Eco-Challenge with Peace Love and Planet and listen to Steve Taylor, a graduate of Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, who performs at 10 a.m. Chef Isabella, the Corporate Chef for Weight Watchers Group and personal chef to Florine Mark, hosts a cooking demo at 11 a.m.
