Farmington Y Back to School Bash and More This Weekend

The first week of school is behind us, and the Farmington Family YMCA has planned a "bash" this weekend to celebrate. 

Check out the details and information about other weekend activities: 

Friday Dinner at the Finnish Center

Michael's Touch of Class will cater an all you can eat buffet dinner from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Cost is $10 adults, $5 for children 12 and younger. The Finnish Center is located on Eight Mile Road, just east of Founders Sports Park. 

Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market 

The market opens at 9 a.m. in the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion, with music at 10 a.m. featuring Mark Reitenga, whose acoustic and folk rock music has entertained metro Detroiters for over 20 years. Admission is free. 

Saturday Self-Defense Seminar for Women

Held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills, this seminar teaches women situational awareness skills and self-defense skills. Advance registration is required; call 248-473-1800.

Back to School Bash at the Y

Held Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., this event offers games, food and fun. This event is free and open to the public at the Farmington YMCA, 28100 Farmington Rd. 

Family Fall Fest

First Presbyterian Church of Farmington will celebrate fall with fun, food and games immediately after the 10 a.m. church service on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend; the church is located at 26165 Farmington Rd.
