Old Winery Market Opens Saturday in Farmington

The market will feature Michigan produce and products on Saturdays through April.

The Old Winery Farmers Market, housed in the Winery/Powerhouse building just west of Orchard Lake Road and Grand River in Farmington, is back for a fourth season. 

Market master Jean Smith of Garden Gate Farms in Snover, MI, has released the season's calendar, which runs through April, and will include classes and special events like Pet Day, Children's Activities Day and the annual pie baking contest. Smith will lead the first class, a lesson in making kale pesto, on Nov. 23. Future topics include holiday gift making and cooking with herbs. 

Vendors who will be on site Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., include:

In addition, the Shimmy Shack food truck will be parked next to the ramp at the building entrance, offering vegan fare, and Miss Farmington Kristina Franchi will make an appearance. Activities will include a weekly drawing for a market basket containing products from vendors.
