Staying in Farmington-Farmington Hills This Weekend?

There's no holiday for the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market in downtown Farmington Saturday.

Even though it's a holiday weekend, there are a few activities to drop into your calendar if you're planning to stay around the Farmington are for Labor Day:

1. Botsford Hospital blood drive

Every person who shows up to donate at the Friday blood drive receives a t-shirt. Blood donations will be accepted between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; visit www.redcrossblood.org/make-donation and enter "Botsford" as the sponsor code, or call 248-888-2610.

2. Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market

Vendors are back at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park offering Michigan produce and products. The Potter’s Field performs at 10 a.m., and Farmington-based Peterlin's restaurant handles the cooking demo at 11 a.m. Join Oakland County Parks and Recreation at noon for some old-fashioned games on the lawn. 

3. Friendship Circle Walk4Friendship

This event happens in West Bloomfield but benefits an organization that provides support to families with children who have special needs in our community as well. The 5K and 1 mile walks start at 12:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony at Friendship Circle, 6892 W. Maple, and ends with a celebration at the Jewish Community Center, 6600 W. Maple.
