1. Welcome Persuasion to Heritage Park

This high-energy ensemble, featuring rhythm, horns and vocals, makes its Farmington Hills debut Thursday, 7 p.m., in the park's amphitheater. The rainout site for this free concert is the Costick Center, 28600 W. Eleven Mile Rd. 

2. Get your indie on in downtown Farmington.

Friday's free Rhythmz in Riley Park concert showcases the talents of Grand Rapids-based indie-folk artists The Crane Wives, a band known for its three-part vocal harmonies and eclectic instrumentation. Rain location is First United Methodist Church, across Grand River. 

3. Welcome late summer produce at the market. 

According to the Michigan Produce Availability Guide, we should start seeing sweet corn, beets, potatoes and more at the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market this time of year. Check it out on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the temporary location on Orchard Street, east of Farmington Road. 

4. Help a Farmington Hills business celebrate.

Suburban Ice of Farmington Hills hosts a customer appreciation day on Saturday, with a free clinic for kids ages 12 and under, free hot dogs, raffle prizes and more. Visit suburbanicefarmingtonhills.com for details. 

5. Rock with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

Psalm 151, The Living Stones and Soul Strength perform at the church Saturday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. There will be a barbecue dinner benefitting the Family of God mission from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Advance tickets and more information can be found at princeofpeacefhills.org
