Winding along the Upper Branch of the Rouge River, Shiawassee Park hums with activity all year long. Ball fields are crowded spring and summer with youth leagues, and the park's large pavilion and picnic facilities provide gathering spaces for family, church and club activities. The Kids World Playscape, built through community donations, offers a wide variety of playground equipment and a safe ground cover. There are also two tennis courts open for public play. In the winter months, a portion of the parking lot is flooded for ice skaters.
