The school meets Adequate Yearly Progress as defined by federal No Child Left Behind Act standards, and received an "A" on its State of Michigan report card. The school hosts a branch of LOC Federal Credit Union, staffed by fourth grade students, under the direction of LOC employees. The branch is open one day a week, and is available to students, parents, faculty and staff to conduct its regular credit union business. The program encourages students to learn more about financial responsibility.

O.E. Dunckel Middle School's community mission is centered on providing a positive and supportive learning environmentMore for its students from grades 7 to 9. Dunckel met Adequate Yearly Progress goals as defined by the federal No Child Left Behind Act and received an "A" composite grade on its State of Michigan report card. It has established a Positive Behavior Support program to improve student behavior and enhance the school culture. Dunckel also hosts a branch of LOC Federal Credit Union one day per week, operated by students who work with an employee to open and manage savings accounts.
