5 Things You Should Know This Weekend - May 4-6, 2012

Among many other weekend events, Democrats will caucus this weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

The first weekend in May is always eventful in Farmington and Farmington Hills. In addition to Saturday activities like the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market opening and South Farmington Baseball parade, here's what else you should know this weekend: The National Weather Service is predicting a great weekend, with some clouds and temperatures in the mid-60s. To get there, we may have to get through some showers and thunderstorms today, when the high will be in the low 70s. Tonight's low will drop to around 50.   Bring the kids (ages 5 and older) to this walk through Heritage Park tonight. Gather at the Nature Discovery Center at 9 p.m.; cost is $3 per person. It's a busy weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills, from live theater to blood drives, and a chance of snow.

Our events calendar is filled with activities happening this weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills – even though the weather may turn on us:  While today will be sunny and clear, rain moves in tonight and may even be mixed with snow Saturday and Saturday night. There's a rainy weekend ahead, and plenty to do in Farmington and Farmington Hills. City offices in Farmington are closed all day, and Farmington Hills city offices close at noon today.

As a holiday weekend begins for those in both the Christian and Jewish faiths, some local government offices are closed either all day or a half-day today. Here's what else you should know about this weekend: Lows will move from around 30 tonight into the 40s over the weekend, but it's still going to remain on the chilly side through Sunday.
