Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute (CSI) promises a home run with its “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” evening of beer and baseball – a celebration of the Great American Pastimes’ opening day. The April 4 dinner, at the college’s Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills, will feature an all-American cuisine paired with local microbrews. Signature cocktails, wines and specialty cocktails will be offered at a cash bar during the cocktail hour. After defeating the New York Yankees on Thursday, the Tigers advance to the American League Championship Series and are one step closer to the World Series.
The Detroit Tigers took a bite out of the Big Apple, and now they are moving on—deep into the heart of Texas, in fact—in the Major League Baseball playoffs. After disposing of the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series on Thursday, the Tigers will take on the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series. If the Tigers can defeat the Rangers, they will advance to the World Series. Everyone seems to have Tigers fever.
