Intoxicated Farmington Hills Man Hit on Woodward Early Wednesday Morning

The 57-year-old was transported to the hospital with a broken leg and bruises, police say.

A Farmington Hills man was treated at Beaumont Hospital after being hit by a car on Woodward early Wednesday morning. According to Birmingham Police, the 57-year-old, who had been drinking and wearing dark clothing, was walking in the middle of Woodward just south of Oak around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was then hit by a car, driven by a Birmingham man. According to police reports and several witnesses, the driver tried to stop when he saw the man walking in the middle of his lane. According to Birmingham Cmdr. Terry Kiernan, the driver told police he was only going 20-30 miles per hour at the time because of pot holes, though he could have been driving up to 40 miles per hour, Kiernan said. Police Report Thefts, Damage to Cars in Neighboring Communities

Among news stories throughout the region, Novi, BIrmingham, West Bloomfield and Bloomfield Township police all report incidents that occurred over the past two weeks.

Area police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. Birmingham Patch A catalytic converter was reportedly cut off a 2002 Pontiac parked in a parking lot on the 1200 block of Derby sometime between noon and 1 p.m. on Halloween. The incident is similar to a string of catalytic converter thefts in Bloomfield Township. According to the Bloomfield Patch, catalytic converteres were cut off two vehicles on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 at the Fox Hills Condominiums in Bloomfield Township — the fourth and fifth of such thefts in the township since the spring.
