Bright House Cable Bills Going Up March 1

Customers in Farmington, Farmington Hills and Novi will see a $2 hike in basic cable and premium channel rates.

Bright House Networks cable rates are going up March 1, Farmington Hills Mayor Barry Brickner said during Monday night's city council meeting.  The rate change affects Farmington Hills, Farmington and Novi. The cities together formed the Southwestern Oakland Cable Commission (SWOCC) in 1982 to negotiate franchise agreements with the cable provider.  Customers can expect to see a $2 increase in basic cable, along with increases in expanded cable and premium channel rates. The Bright House Movie Pass will increase from $7 to $8; digital box and DVR service will remain the same, Brickner said.  "They are adding some things to our package, but they are raising rates to go with it," he added.   He said the city has no control over cable rates; …

Bright House, Busch's Make '12 Days of Giving' Delivery in Farmington Hills

The cable service invited Facebook users to take action that helped stock the Bountiful Backpack program and local food shelves Friday.

Farmington area Facebook users did a lot of "liking" and "sharing" last weekend, and on Friday, it all paid off. The City of Farmington Hills after school program benefitted from Bright House Networks 12 Days of Giving, which offered donations equal to the number of times certain photos were shared on the social media site. On Friday, Bright House and Busch's Fresh Food Market teamed up to deliver more than 3,700 canned and boxed food items that were, in turn, distributed to several local organizations. A Bright House truck brought food first to Farmington Public Schools Visions Unlimited, where students with developmental disabilities pack backpacks for a Farmington-Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families program that provides …

Bright House Networks Turns to Facebook to Support Local Charities

The company's 12 Days of Giving initiative is based on sharing photos posted to the company's Facebook page.

Bright House Networks on Wednesday launched its 12 Days of Giving campaign, which will support charitable organizations in its local communities that are focused on helping the military, homeless, hungry and children.   During the 12 Days of Giving, Bright House Networks will post a different picture of a much needed item on its Facebook company profile page. The items will range from razors for military personnel to baby formula and diapers for children. For every person who shares the photo of the day, Bright House Networks will donate that same number of items to a local charity that supports these causes. Farmington, North Students Receive Laptops Through Bright House Scholarship Program
