Friends of the Farmington Hills dog day care, grooming and boarding facility donated items for cats and dogs living in a Westland facility.
Late last month, we told you about the Canine College Giving Tree, a benefit for homeless pets placed at the Westland Berman Center of the Michigan Humane Society. A video posted to Youtube.com, a video sharing site, announces that all donations received will be delivered today. It shows Canine College's Christmas tree surrounded by heaps of gifts, donated for cats and dogs that are waiting for permanent homes. After you've spent a little over a minute watching the video, check out the events posted on today's calendar, plus events for which you'll have to register or buy tickets later in the week. Check our calendar for more activities, classes and events happening today and throughout the week. If your event isn't listed, feel free to…

Canine College, a Farmington Hills-based pet care facility, has created a program to benefit homeless pets placed at the Westland Berman Center of the Michigan Humane Society (MHS). The Giving Tree, now in place in the Canine College lobby, is adorned with paper ornaments that feature pictures of animals that need a little love this holiday season. On the back of each ornament is a "wish list". Visitors can choose an ornament, fill the animal's wish list and place the items in a holiday stocking. Staple the animal's picture to the stocking and bring it back to Canine College by Dec. 20 to place under the tree. "Santa Paws" will deliver the holiday gifts on Dec. 24, making the day special for the homeless pets. If the homeless animal has …

Owners keep an eye on Canine College 'students' through webcams.
Visit Canine College’s website, and you might think you were about to enroll your pooch into a four-year university. Complete with a list of "faculty and staff", admission guidelines and enrollment forms, this dog care facility is a place where “It’s Cool to Drool.” Founded by Deb Watkins in 2006 as a dog daycare, boarding, training and grooming facility, the 16,300-square-foot facility is staffed by Certified Pet Care Technicians.
