The Greater Farmington Area Chamber welcomes the new business to Farmington Hills.
In a ceremony attended by Greater Farmington Area Chamber members and city officials, Elder Living Construction celebrated the grand opening of its Universal Design Center Tuesday. The Center has been in the space at 27260 Haggerty in Farmington Hills for about five months. Partners Roger Burghdoff, Tim Saling and Barbara Baker work with a staff that includes craftspeople and an occupational therapist to specialize in barrier-free remodeling. The materials they use will fit into any home, but incorporate features that help seniors and people with disabilities live more comfortably. One of the first things you see as you walk into Elder Living Construction's new Universal Design Center at 27260 Haggerty Rd. in Farmington Hills is a very large shower stall. Large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, the stall also has a trendy look that would fit well in any home. It's the kind of thing the company encourages clients to consider: design with an eye toward the future and aging.
