Crime Report: Purse Snatched, Damage Done to Schools

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 71-year-old Farmington Hills woman told Farmington Hills Police that a masked man accosted her Monday night in front of her home on Bycroft and took her purse. According to the report, the woman had returned from watching a softball game in Redford and was walking to her home when the man ran up and demanded she hand over her purse. She told police the man was about 5-foot-6-inches tall, wore a ski mask and did not appear to have a weapon. After he took her purse, he drove away in a blue, older model small pickup truck, according to the report. Police Blotter: Leaf Blowers Stolen from Truck

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An employee of a Milford lawn care company told police two leaf blowers were stolen from the back of a company pickup truck Monday around noon. According to the report, the 22-year-old man told police he was working on a large property and the truck was sometimes out of his sight. The truck was parked on Stanhurst west of Drake Road when the crime occurred. A food services worker at East Middle School arrived at the school on Monday morning to find an office window broken. According to the report, a golf ball was found lying outside, close to the window. A resident on 12 Mile Road left town on June 20 and returned home Saturday around 4 a.m. to find his motorcycle had been stolen. According to the report, the 23-year-old Hills man told …

Police Blotter: Armed Robbery at Walgreens

It took an armed man less than two minutes to empty the safe at the Farmington Hills store.

An armed robber emptied a safe at the Walgreens on Grand River in Farmington Hills in less than two minutes Sunday night. According to the police report, employees were preparing to close the store at around 11:30 p.m. when a man—described as 5 feet 9 inches and 200 pounds and wearing a black hooded jacket, blue cloth mask, blue gloves, black pants and black shoes—entered the store and brandished a gun. Employees told police the man ordered them into the back room, where the safe is kept, and then to place the money into a red backpack with yellow straps that was decorated with a children's cartoon character. Police Blotter: Marijuana Possession, Unpaid Bar Tab

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man arrested for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday morning told police the drugs in his car were his brother's. Officers stopped the 26-year-old Dearborn Heights man's car near Haggerty and 10 Mile because of defective brake lights, according to the police report. Police said they found an open bottle of liquor behind the passenger seat and marijuana under the ashtray in the center console. A check of the man's background showed 14 prior convictions, a suspended license and three warrants for traffic violations. I especially would like to see a follow up to the Botsford Hospital story. People are not going to feel safe getting emergency treatment there if it turns out to be an employee is robbing patients and nothing is done about it.   more ›
