Jerry Jakacki, Long-Time Farmington Photo Studio Owner, Dies

Jakacki, who lost his battle with cancer Friday afternoon, founded Focal Point Studio of Photography with his wife, Michele, in 1973.

Long-time Farmington business owner Jerry Jakacki, 66, died Friday afternoon, after a 10-month battle with cancer. According to an obituary posted on the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home website, Jerry and his wife, Michele, founded Focal Point Studio of Photography in 1973. Focal Point has studios in downtown Farmington and Plymouth.  Mr. Jakacki was born in Poland on May 24, 1946, to Henry and Halina (Rzeczkowski) Jakacki. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, earning the Bronze Star and other decorations. Jerry and Michele (Brugnoni) were married on Sept. 4, 1976, at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Harper Woods.
