Farmington Hills lands about mid-list among 99 of the state's communities in Coldwell Banker's latest Home Listing Report.
In its latest national home listing report, released last week, Coldwell Banker ranks Farmington Hills as the 42nd most expensive home market among 99 Michigan communities. The report lists the average price of a typical four-bedroom, two-bath home in the city at $218,388. Farmington was not ranked. Coldwell Banker's commmunity overview puts the median Farmington Hills household income at $72,822 and reports that 2,621 of the community's homes are vacant. According to the report, which looked at 2,479 communities across the country, the average price of a typical four-bedroom, two-bath in the United States is $292,152. The median sale price of a home or condo was up in September from the same month last year by 28.7 percent, according to figures released Monday by Farmington Hills-based Realcomp.
Metro Detroit home sales were down slightly in September for the first time in a year, but prices continue to climb, according to figures released Monday by Farmington Hills-based Realcomp. The good news is the median sale price of a home or condo in Metro Detroit was up in September from the same month last year by 17.3 percent. Oakland County led the way with a 28.7 percent increase, followed by Wayne County with a 14.9 percent increase and Macomb and Livingston with increases of 11.1 and 10 percent, respectively. Realcomp defines Metro Detroit as Oakland, Wayne, Livingston and Macomb counties. In Farmington and Farmington Hills, single family home sales reported to AOL Real Estate ranged from $68,000 to $470,000. The site currently …
