Dennis Zavis is a member of The Clatter, a metro Detroit classic rock band.
The Clatter, one of Metro-Detroit's top classic rock bands, is releasing its debut CD, “Name in Lights” at two release parties in February. Band members include Farmington Hills resident Dennis Zavis on drums and vocals, veteran rock musicians Kim Madeleine of Livonia on guitar and vocals and Lou Wysocki of Detroit on bass and vocals. The CD's eight original songs are reminiscent of the classic rock music heard in the 1970s and 1980s. A release party will be held at Timberwolf Tavern in Redford Township on Feb. 23. Recorded at Audio Madness Studios in Warren, the CD took more than a year to complete, in part due to the band’s busy gig schedule and daytime careers. “We recorded the basic tracks in 2011, but we have been so busy playing at …

The Farmington Rotary Club will keep drawing tonight until the lucky card is found. And then the fun starts all over again Feb. 7.
Even though a Farmington Rotary Queen of Hearts jackpot winner picked up a check several weeks ago, big money is still at stake as the club wraps up its year-long fundraiser Thursday at John Cowley & Sons in downtown Farmington. Continuous drawings will be held starting at 9 p.m., until the queen is found. Tickets are $1 each and go on sale at 7 p.m., on the second floor of the downtown Farmington restaurant. The person who draws the queen of hearts wins 60 percent of the funds collected; winners do not have to be present. Those who don't pick the queen receive…
