No Contraband Found During North Farmington, Harrison Lockdowns

Students were kept in their classrooms Wednesday while K-9 teams swept lockers and vehicles in the school's parking lot.

Farmington Hills Police conducted K-9 team sweeps at North Farmington and Harrison high schools today, as students remained locked in their classrooms.  Police Chief Chuck Nebus said Wednesday evening that, although the drug-sniffing dogs "hit" on three cars at each school, "I am pleased to report that no drugs were found at either school."  He added that four of the six students whose cars were identified by the K-9s admitted that marijuana had been inside their vehicles.  In a list serv email sent Wednesday afternoon, school officials said the lockdown was part of an "on-going effort to ensure a safe, successful learning environment" for students.  The note concluded, "We are grateful to our students and staff for their excellent …

Friends and family will gather at Sunrise Cafe in Farmington Hills the evening of Tuesday to pay tribute to the life of Nina, K-9 partner of a Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy.
